Jenti Bellai, a young girl from Tezu, a small village in Arunachal Pradesh, who befriended a guy named Ahmar Hassan from Delhi on the social networking site Facebook is reported missing since Tuesday morning.
She is believed to ran away from home and gone alone to meet her Facebook friend in Delhi, who had earlier offer and promised to find her a job. When the teenager did not return home, her parents tried to contact her on mobile. However, her mobile phone has been switched-off nor did she contacted any of her family members or friends.
“We have registered a missing person case through crime branch and police stations in Delhi and Arunachal Pradesh have been also alerted”, wrote IGP Robin Hibu on his organisation Helping Hands Society Facebook post a few minutes ago.
Her relatives are worried and doubting that she might be forced into flesh trade trafficking or kept as a captive in some secret location by her allegedly Facebook friend.
In the recent years, many young girls from the Northeast states has been emotionally duped and kidnapped by their online boyfriends. While some of them have been rescued but there are still few pending cases of untraced missing persons.
