American boxing legend Evander Holyfield has landed his appreciation for the Five-time world champion MC Mary Kom, reported The Hindu on the insights about his new found glory in the Indian woman boxer.
“Yes, I follow her. She is a great lady. I find her very great because it is amazing how this young woman in India is doing boxing which is considered an American. It’s great that she is doing well,” the former Undisputred Heavyweight World Champion told PTI outside Parliament while participating in pre-Christmas celebrations for an organisation.
The report also added that the retired American professional boxer is keen in Indian boxing scene. During the 2008 Beijing Olympics, he watched the semi-final match of Vijender Singh, who went on to become India’s first boxing medallist in the Olympics.
