Community Radio stations to go live across Assam

In a bid to focus on educational programmes and training programmes for the unemployed youth in Assam. The state government would set up Community Radio Stations (CRS) with Department of Information and Public Relations (IPRD) across the state.

According to The Shillong Times, “A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed in Guwahati on Monday between Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU), which will be the implementing agency of the project and Minister of State (Independent) for Information and Public Relations Basanta Das.”

The CRS project would aim to also address the various issues  faced by the communities of the state and to promote the folk culture of various indigenous groups  .
