Manipur martial art expert pulls SUV for extreme World Records

A 35-year-old Thang-Ta expert Sougaijam Bhaba Singh (Momocha) pulled an SUV Tata Safari weighing around 2,510 kg for over a distance of 122.5 feet against the incline surface of Loklaobung Bridge with the help of a pointed spear fitted on his throat in a bid to enter the Limca Book of Records (India) and Guinness Book of World Records at Loklaobung Thong in Imphal West on 16 June, 2013.

Bhaba told Hueiyen Lanpao that he has been practicing the indigenous performing martial art Thang-Ta of Manipur since childhood, from what he had adopted the techniques in pulling the vehicle.

[blockquote]After 8 years of practicing the techniques of pulling vehicles, Bhaba succeeded in pulling a 407 Tata trucks along Canchipur Road in 2003, says a report by Hueiyen Lanpao.[/blockquote]

Noting his attempt to enter the records books, he shared his inspiration was to expose the art of Thang-Ta to the world.
