Manipur to get nine all women police stations

According to The Hindu report, The Manipur government is all set to open an all-women police station each in all the nine districts in the state. The establishment of these women police stations is to enable police to curb the increasing crime against women.

The government will appoint 270 policewomen with a strength of 30 policewomen in each police station consisting of one inspector, two sub-inspectors, two assistant sub-inspectors, four head constables and 21 constables for these proposed police stations.

The construction work for setting up of these police stations in most of the districts is nearing completion, says Home Minister Gaikhangam Gangmei.
