Manipuri body builder Arambam Boby clinched India’s second gold medal, by winning the 80 kg category in the 7th WBPF World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships 2015, held in Bangkok, Thailand.
With this victory he has won his fourth World Championship title, and also regained his crown from 2012. Bobby also won gold at this year’s Asian body-building Championship, held in Tashkent. He is one of the finest bodybuilders India has produced in recent years.
Meanwhile in Women’s event, Thingbaijam Sarita bagged a silver medal in the 65 kg category and another Manipuri Yumnam Mamota also won a bronze medal in a separate category at the same sporting championships.
According to Hueiyen Lanpao, India’s four medal tally including a gold medal by television star Thakur Anoop Singh, puts them second in the leaderboard, behind hosts Thailand. Despite so many laurels won for the country, Yet it is not sure whether these athletes will be felicitated by the Sports Ministry.
