On February 10, Union HRD Minister M.M. Pallam Raju has laid the foundation stone of the first National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Arunachal Pradesh at Jote village, around 35 km from capital Itanagar.
The institute, which started from 2010 in a temporary campus at Yupia, the headquarters of Papum Pare district, offers undergraduate courses in Computer Science, Electronics & Electrical and Electronics & Computer Engineering with an intake of 30 each. It is one of the 30 National Institutes of Technology in the country.
The site of the NIT is surrounded by beautiful and green forest and mountains. The area is picturesque and serene and has an ideal academic environment.
