In an effort to spread the message and awareness through a musical campaign among youth as one of the positive activity to avoid drugs abuse. A not-for-profit group BASIC to release an compilation CD album “7×7”, featuring various artists/bands from all the states of Northeastern India next week.
The former Grammy award nominee and pioneer of howey genre — Abiogenesis will dedicate their song “Say No to the Deceiver” to the 7-track album, while the twipra rapper Borkung Hrangkhawl, who became the first person from the Northeast region to hit one million YouTube views, will be adding his newest single “Power” in this social revival compilation.
The upcoming album will also feature two all-female bands — The Vinyl Records and The Afflatus, apart from Frisky Pints, Alien Conspiracy Theory and Axis. All the bands will contribute their original song each on the theme “Youth & Drug Abuse” to extend their support to voice for the cause.
BASIC project manager Khevito Elvis Lee, while adding more lights about their noble initiative informed Sevendiary.com, “Through this album, we hope to raise awareness and some fund to support those people in need with special focus on HIV+ and orphans at Tabitha Home, whom we have been supporting for two years now”.
BASIC is also currently in talk to stage a concert with all the featured bands in New Delhi around late November. Both the compilation and event is intended to highlight concerns over rampant drug abuse among the younger generation and tell them that music is better than drugs.
