NorthEast’s first E-toilets launched in Guwahati

Debuting for the first time in the soil of Northeastern states, designed with eco-environmental perimeters that horses to provide hygienic sanitation facilities.

The first set of two E-toilets, one each for male and female occupants have been installed at Maligaon area in Guwahati by the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) in partnership with Outreach Advertising on Sunday, reported The Shillong Times.

How to Use E-toilet?

Drop a coin into the slot and bingo the door to the toilet slides open, the light and exhaust fan turn on. Don’t worry, in case you forget to flush after use, the automated flushing turns on and sterilizes the commode too. Welcome to experience the first unmanned electronic public toilets in Guwahati.

The automated electronic public toilets, developed by Kerela based Eram Scientific Solutions (P) Ltd, which has operational presence in India (650 e-Toilets in 51 cities in the country so far), the Middle East and Southeast Asia, urges to service the cosmopolitan ambiance of the city with a facility of unmanned pre-flushing before entering and automatic flushing once usage is done, equipped with in-built water tanks and power-sensor cleaning system.

E-Toilet has recently won the Reinvent the Toilet Challenge (RTTC) India Award instituted by BIRAC, Department of Biotechnology, Government of India for developing cost effective toilets for slums and communities.
