Nearly seven years after the band was formed in 2006. The Imphal based alternative act — ReCycle has released their first EP album titled “A Cycle” (out March 24 via indie label Chumthang records).
We’ve been waiting, and finally it’s here!
The 5-track EP contains all their original songs, including White Noise, Echo, True Lies, On the Floor and So Let’s Talk a While. The CD album is now available for Rs.100 at few selected stores and “True Lies” is up for free download on their Reverbnation page.
Recorded at Shallow River Studios in Imphal, with live acoustic drums and mastered by Jeet Singh Ksh in Bangalore. The album aims to inspire the reality of human emotions, social issues and relate it to all the senses caught in the socio-political breakdown, especially to what is currently surfacing in their hometown Imphal, gasping to breathe out a loud message “Hypocrisy – Fake People, Fake promises”.
The EP opens strong with a rebellious funk anthem “White Noise”. The music perfectly blends with shredding guitar bits toning to the sound likes of RHCP and Tom Morello combined, with powerful lining bass riffs and thumping drums, fits the whimsical lyrics flame and verses.
ReCyle’s first gig was opening the stage for Aizawl’s Boomarang in April 2007 and later they went on to win the Best Vocalist Award at the annual Hornbill National Rock Contest the same year.
