The popular American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, will make a special stop next month to perform for the Dalai Lama at his annual environmental summit on 11th May.
The event will take place on the final third day of the summit at Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum, as part of the visit of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama — Tenzin Gyatso, to Portland, Oregon.
Maitripa College, the first and only Tibetan Buddhist college in the Pacific Northwest will host the special benefit musical show in the afternoon.
A posting on the college’s website states, “The musical element of this event is intended to be a display of joyful celebration and an inspiration to future generations to care for our planet. The Red Hot Chili Peppers have been great supporters of the Tibetan cause, of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and of the need to work to protect and preserve our environment”.
