Rhythms of Manipur, a fusion musical troupe based in Imphal enthralled Singapore on February 5, 2013. They performed six musical scores upon invitation of The High Commission of India (Singapore) and Singapore Flyer, the world’s largest Giant Observation Wheel located in the heart of the city.
Founded in 1885, The group specialized in traditional Manipuri dance and music have been touring and performing across the country since then.
They had also done musical scores for various Ballets, Plays, Films including “Jagoi Marup”, which bagged the best production award at the 3rd National Ballet Festival 1992.
Their fusion musical piece produced by the Doordarshan, Imphal was adjudged as the Best Entry in the Music Category in the 10th National Doordarshan Annual Award 2009-2010. The Rhythms of Manipur has been supported by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, since 1994.
