The official website and hunt for Miss Sikkim 2013 was launched by the former Indian football team captain Bhaichung Bhutia at Denzong Regency, Gangtok on March 3, 2013.
Online registrations (Rs. 500 each applicant) for the beauty pageant organized by event management company PRIMO, can be apply at misssikkim.com and the last date for receiving applications is April 30. The contestant must be of age between 18 years to 25 years and a resident of Sikkim for the past six months.
According to a press release, PRIMO chief creative officer Mandira Chettri was quoted saying;
Compassion is towards one another and to be sensitive and aware about crime against women. Eve teasing, domestic violence, rape and sexual assault against women are the evils of our society that require immediate redressal. Through Miss Sikkim 2013 we hope to carry this message far and wide. The mission of Miss Sikkim 2013 is to encourage young people towards preservation of the rich cultural heritage of our society and also to provide a platform to the deserving, talented and beautiful girls of Sikkim.
The grand finale of Miss Sikkim 2013 will be held on June 8 at Manan Kendra. Bhaichung has also announced one year free membership to his BB15 Fitness & Dance Studio, to the top three contestants of Miss Sikkim 2013.
Last year’s Miss Sikkim 2012 Zennyla Bhutia went on to win Sunsilk Miss North East 2012.
