St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama, is the first Catholic College in Nagaland and one of the best colleges in the state. The college was established in 1985 and managed by the Catholic Diocese of Kohima.
It offers Arts and Commerce courses for under graduate (UG) degrees to over 3000 students every year. Located at the exotic hill town of unimaginable beauty with exquisitely picturesque landscapes and lush and verdant flora. It is also a popular educational destination to students from neighbouring states as well.
The College library has over 11,000 books and several periodicals. Additions are made to the library every year. Other facilities available are Computer Centre, Counselling and Guidance, Orientation Programmes, Associations and Clubs, Hostels, Sports and Games etc.
The list of college Scholarships include Governor’s Gold Medal, Chikrophuyo Mermorial Award, Avica Achumi Memorial Award and Alumni Association Award.
